What Is an Ombudsman?

An Ombudsman is another resource for families and patients in nursing homes to make sure that they’re not getting neglected or abused.

The Ombudsman is a person that’s part of the the state health department that works to provide additional advocacy for patients and families and if necessary can engage in some investigations to make sure that these nursing homes and other.

Facilities are not engaged in neglect or abuse. Each state has its own ombudsman office, and you can find that information online and in some states like Colorado there’s an ombudsman assigned to various regions and each region covers various counties.

So if you contact your state ombudsman’s office, they should put you in touch with the appropriate ombudsman for you and then you can work with that.

Person, if for instance you think that your loved ones aren’t getting hot meals, well they can get in touch with your nursing home and try and right that wrong and if it’s more serious than that and not that that’s not serious, but if it’s if we’re talking about severe abuse and neglect they can involve the state department and they themselves can get involved and investigate to make sure that that stops.
