What Is the Statute Of Limitations for Medical Malpractice?

Video Description:

The statute of limitations is the limit upon the time that’s available for you to file a claim against a negligent doctor for causing harm. In either Colorado or Wyoming, that statute is 2 years.

So, in other words, you have 2 years from the date that the doctor causes the harm or 2 years from the date that you discover the injury that your doctor has caused in order for you to file a lawsuit. Once that time has passed, in other words, 2 years go by, you’re out of luck.

At that point in time, you’re no longer legally able to bring a lawsuit against that doctor for your injuries.
