Sean Olson founded Olson Personal Injury Lawyers with one clear mission: to help people who’ve been injured get the justice—and support—they need to move forward. Serving clients throughout Colorado, New Mexico, and Wyoming, Sean and his team have made it their purpose to stand up for the wrongfully injured and fight for fair outcomes. It’s a commitment they call Protecting the West. Sean and the attorneys at Olson Personal Injury Lawyers have backed up that mission by securing millions for their clients, and they point to multiple client testimonials that prove the firm’s commitment to justice.

Since 2012, Sean has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a top-rated personal injury attorney—an acknowledgment of his skill, experience, and dedication. His practice focuses on personal injury, medical malpractice, and nursing home abuse, and he’s helped secure millions of dollars for clients. But what matters most to Sean isn’t the numbers—it’s seeing the real difference those results make. Whether it’s funding life-saving medical care, making a home more livable after a serious injury, or helping a family find peace after tragedy, Sean is passionate about helping people rebuild.

He’s an active member of the legal communities in Colorado, New Mexico, and Wyoming, and has even returned to his alma mater—the University of Denver Sturm College of Law—to teach trial advocacy as an adjunct professor. For Sean, there’s nothing more meaningful than telling his clients’ stories in courtrooms across the country and seeing the relief on their faces when justice is done. That’s what drives him—and the entire Olson Personal Injury Lawyers team—every day.

Before becoming a lawyer, Sean built a successful career in journalism. He grew up in a small farming town in Wisconsin, then earned a degree in journalism and mass communication from Drake University in Iowa. He went on to work as an Emmy award-winning photojournalist, traveling the world and capturing stories behind the camera. But over time, he realized that simply observing wasn’t enough—he wanted to be the person who helped.

That calling led him to law school, where he graduated in the top one percent of his class. Practicing law gave Sean the chance to keep telling stories—but this time, he could actually help shape the ending.

Today, when he’s not in court or advocating for his clients, Sean lives in the Colorado foothills with his wife, their two incredible kids, and a small pack of beloved four-legged companions. He spends his downtime fly fishing, mountain biking, and helping his children discover their own paths. Through it all, Sean remains deeply committed to one goal: Protecting the West, one case at a time.

Personal Injury Attorney

“Being a personal injury lawyer gives me the opportunity to tell stories in the same way that I did when I worked behind the camera. It gives me the opportunity to get to know my clients, to learn their story, and to take that story and present it to a jury of their community members. I get to help those jurors understand who my client is, what happened to them, why it affected them so much, and why they, as jurors, should do something about it. That is why I became a personal injury attorney, and it is why I continue to tell the stories of injured Americans today”.
